Evaluation: Question 4: How Did You Use New Media Technologies In The Construction And Research, Planning and Evaluation Stages?

Overall, media convergence is an important and vital aspect when creating any media project, as it allows you to use different and multiple devices combined into one. For example our film title incorporated varied mediums to create the basis of what our film title would look like. We started out by placing an image onto photoshop and cutting out bits that were unnecessary for us. We then downloaded a font onto dafont.com to be put onto iMovie and create the written wording title. After screen shooting this we placed both images onto iPhoto to be saved and then re-uploaded onto iMovie. We then placed the background image of the hair onto the programme and then inserted the Gothel foreground imagine on top which is called 'picture in picture'. This left us with an image on an image which left us with no special effect. So using this software, we began to use the transitions, however they were not successful in what effects we wanted to use. We decided to go and use the Ken Burns effect on iMovie player, this was useful as we didn't have to go through an external method to get this effect of appearing small and enlarging and then disappearing. However, this was the most frustrating part of our convergence because the images would not show up when we added any textures or changed the timing. This was down to the fact that they were not edited on the same programme so they would go against what we planned to do. However, after screen printing the images again on the same format of programme, what we hoped to do was achieved.
